Q: Please introduce the main features/characteristics of your application.
The Black Mamba App is the world’s simplest rescue beacon. With one tap, you turn on the app and send your position to your friends and family.
Q: What was the motive behind the development of this application?
We are military veterans who served in Iraq and Korea, and were personally involved with rescue missions during our service. We wanted to combine our previous experience saving lives with our current skills in technology and development.
Q: Why did your team compete in the Disaster Apps Challenge?
We wanted to put our idea to the test amongst other developers, and drive urgency to our project.
Q: Could you tell us about any of you (or your company’s) achievements that you want to share with the STAR-TIDES community?
We both served in the Army, met each other at Techstars Patriot Boot Camp two years ago, and worked on a previous company that became a Techstars New York finalist. We still like each other enough to work together.
Q: What are your long-term plans for the application and where do you see it going in the future?
Our long term plan is for the Black Mamba App to be deployed before any crisis management situation globally, to aid rescue personnel in efficiently completing their missions. We want to save more lives using technology than previous means.
